His first book, What I Learned About Writing Fiction, was published in 2000 but it had the exact opposite effect. He actually began making comics as a way to help me cope with a certain age. So it was a great learning curve to become a reader and have someone write a short story in the vein of the book. As well, people would talk about the "bizarre" or whatever people who knew "bizarre" would say. Not only did I find it fascinating that people would mention it online and share it via e-mail, it was also hilarious. That is when the real learning curve began.
